Reminders for Christian Voters
Reminders for Christian Voters
As Election Day approaches, here are some friendly reminders and an invitation to join us in prayer for our country.
- Election Day is Tuesday, November 5. If voting on that day isn’t convenient, early voting is available from October 21 to November 1. You can find local polling and early voting locations here.
- Need to confirm your voter registration? Check your status here.
A Day of Prayer on Election Day
We will be hosting A Day of Prayer for Our Country from 8 am–8 pm in the Sanctuary. You are welcome to come for as long or as brief a time as you’d like.
- Top of each hour: Song of worship and guided prayers
- Half-hour mark: Scripture reading and prayer prompts
Feel free to pray alone or with others as we unite in prayer for our community and nation.
Our Posture as We Approach Election Day
In this season, we are reminded that our ultimate calling is to help people find and follow Jesus. Though political differences may arise, our mission is to transcend these disagreements and foster unity through Christ. Thank you for using wisdom in your words to point people to the cross and not to discord.
Here are eight guiding principles for us as we engage with each other and our church community:
- We give our allegiance to Jesus Christ alone.
- We will lead with love, not fear.
- We submit to the truth of Scripture.
- We believe the Gospel heals every worldly division.
- We are committed to the prophetic mission of the Church.
- We value every person as created in God’s image.
- We recognize godly leaders by their character.
- We believe “Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Rom. 8:38–39).
Thank you for being a loving, Christ-centered, and gracious church.
