Better Together
From the start of their relationship, Zach and Lauren’s faith has been a significant part of their connection. Before getting married in the summer of 2025, they were already taking steps to build a healthy foundation for their relationship. It felt like a natural next step for them to continue investing in their marriage by participating in The Marriage Course last fall. Lauren shares, “The course is thoughtful about the topics that often arise in marriage. It was helpful to have specific time to talk about those topics in a safe place.”
Your spouse plays a unique role in your life. As the world outside your relationship changes, it can be challenging to navigate things if you are not on the same page. That requires consistency and constant communication. Zach shares, “We have found it really helpful to have a common set of vocabulary and tools. It’s great to be able to zoom out and reference those tools when we’re most in need of them.”
Throughout the 7-week experience, couples listen to teaching supported by biblical and scientific research then are encouraged to discuss what they learned together. Having a designated time to discuss important topics through the lens of marriage brought Zach and Lauren closer to each other while also strengthening their faith. Lauren shares, “I trust that is Zach pushing me in faith-based ways. No one else has this role in my life. He is a constant tool that’s helping refine my faith.”
Marriage is not the ultimate goal of our faith, but it can be a beautiful tool and symbol of God’s love. Being in close relationship with others encourages us to examine our own tendencies, goals, and beliefs. Zach shares, “When you invest in your marriage, you are also investing in your faith.”
Whether you are newly married or are reconnecting as empty nesters, The Marriage Course offers you a safe place to align your faith in Christ as the center of your life and relationships.
