Rule of Life

A Rule of Life is not a set of rules, but a reordering of life to create space for meaningful practices and rhythms that move us toward Christ.

What is the Rule of Life?

Thomas Daniel Preaching

Where Are You?

Thomas Daniel explains what the Rule of Life is, and how to use it. Where are you, and where is God calling you to go?

How should I grow?

We invite you to create your own Rule of Life by downloading and filling it out here, and reading the weekly questions listed below. This tool helps us explore four rhythms, or Discipleship Habits, that the early Church devoted itself to and that can help us find and follow Jesus today.

For each of the four Discipleship Habits (listed below), take time to reflect on two simple questions: What am I currently practicing? and What do I sense God inviting me toward?

This isn’t meant to be done alone. Consider working through your Rule of Life with your family, Community Group, Anchor or Ascent Table, or a trusted friend—praying, dreaming, and encouraging one another along the way. Hold on to your Rule of Life and revisit it throughout the year, noticing how God is shaping your growth in each area. As you grow, feel free to refine and update it.

Discipleship Habits

Discipleship Habits

Apostles’ Teaching

We immerse ourselves in scripture to learn about the person of Jesus.

Deep Fellowship

We are made to know and be known by others.

We commune with our Creator to grow in relationship with Him.

Extravagant Generosity

We give freely of ourselves because God has freely given to us.
