Witness to His Goodness
This year marks 100 years of God’s faithfulness at HP Pres. Over the past few months, we’ve looked back at the legacy of this church, remembering how we’ve been shaped by the apostle’s teaching, deep fellowship, abiding prayer, and extravagant generosity. We are now living in the answered prayers of the generations who stepped out in faith a century ago.
On May 2, 1926, the very first HP Pres Sunday school class had their first meeting. Our founding members were driven by a simple, radical call to gather together in worship. As the years passed, our campus was built, our church’s reach expanded, and new Christ-followers were added to our church family.
Beginning in 2001, our family of churches was born with the launch of All Nations. In the years following, the Mandarin Chinese Church, Peak Street Church, Grace Church, and Good Shepherd were founded, spreading our family tree into new corners of our city. Since then, we have become a dynamic family of churches, bound together by extravagant generosity.
As HP Pres has grown and changed over the years our desire to follow the blueprint of the early church has remained the same. The joy of worshiping Christ together spills out of our campus into our city and beyond, inviting people of all ages to find and follow Jesus alongside us. When we meet together, we remember our identity in Christ so that when we scatter, the world remembers who we gathered for.
As we step into the next 100 years, we can trust that God is faithful because we’ve been witness to His goodness over the last century. Looking back, we can see how He has guided us, held us in times of grief, and rejoiced with us when we gather together in worship. We celebrate this milestone in our church’s history while looking forward to the next era of God’s faithfulness.
We invite you to join us on Sunday, Oct. 18, for a churchwide celebration, recognizing the founding of our church. Mark your calendars and we look forward to celebrating 100 years of God’s faithfulness with you this fall!
