Session Update – April 2022

Published On April 1, 2022

On Monday, April 25, our Session met after a time of prayer and fasting to discuss leading HP Pres. Below are some of the highlights from the meeting that you should be aware of and praying for during this next month. If you have questions or feedback about any of these topics, you can contact the Session at hppres.org/elders.

We spent time celebrating an incredible Easter at HP Pres and our family of churches. Our expanded worship schedule allowed for an unprecedented number of people to hear to gospel on our campus, with 4,838 guests joining us for services. Additionally, 2,917 devices viewed our Easter services online.
Rapid growth in our church family has led to a critical problem in our Early Childhood ministry. For the last two months, we’ve had to turn people away because of a lack of volunteers. Sign up and find a schedule that works with your life by going to hppres.org/count-me-in
The Session spent time in conversation discussing the challenges of not just leading through a crisis like the pandemic, but how to successfully lead out of a crisis as well.
Our Discipleship Assessment has led to 282 people registering to be part of a Discipleship Conversation. Over the next few weeks, these people will be paired into groups. Learn more about hppres.org/assessment.
The Session voted to affirm Charley Hellmuth to begin the process of becoming an ordained ECO Pastor.
The Session voted to affirm Steve McLean in becoming an Affiliate Pastor in ECO.
We’re excited to share that our next plant in our Family of Churches has a name! More information about Good Shepherd Oak Cliff will be shared in the coming months.
The Governance Coordinating Committee shared that one of our elders has resigned from his position of Elder because he is moving back to his birth home to pursue ministry there.
Seeking to Glorify Him,
The Session at HP Pres
