Mental Health Matters

Published On August 9, 2023

Although you may not be struggling with your mental health, it’s likely that you know someone that is facing challenges in that area. The quality of our mental health impacts decision-making, ability to face life’s challenges, and the capacity for perseverance and resilience.

Our mental health affects our body, mind, and spirit. When we struggle with mood, decision-making, and relationships in our lives, this invariably affects our spiritual health and ability to rest in God’s goodness and provision. Prioritizing mental health nurtures mind, body, and soul, fortifying connection with God and those around us.

We, as believers, can practice faith in Christ while receiving the benefits that the science of psychology has to offer. The foundation of the Christian faith and counseling psychology are complementary concepts created by God to enhance one another and empower the believer. The integration of faith and focus on mental health serves to support and prioritize the well-being of the individual in mind, body, and spirit.

If you or someone you know is struggling with mood, relationship issues, decision-making, or difficult circumstances, go to hppres.org/care to get support, gain perspective, and explore healthy coping strategies.
