Praying for Christians Near and Far

Published On July 3, 2025

Our desire as a church body is to lead all generations to find and follow Jesus for the flourishing of our city and beyond. Long-time partner, PARS Theological Centre’s work is on the frontlines of that mission. Through our connection with PARS, we will be welcoming a new Pastoral Resident, Hovan, his wife, Pegah, and their two daughters to our church family this summer.

Moving from the UK to Dallas, Hovan’s heart is to minister to the growing population of displaced Christians from the Middle East to the United States. As we welcome him, his family, and his calling to our church, please join us in praying in the following ways:

Comfort for those Mourning

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” (Matthew 5:4) Pray for God’s healing presence among the families who have lost loved ones due to conflict in the Middle East and for deep comfort for the injured and grieving.

Protection of the Innocent

“The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed…” (Psalm 9:9) Pray for supernatural protection over civilians, especially vulnerable Christians, women, and children facing oppression and those caught in crossfire or displacement.

Boldness in Witness

“They triumphed… by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.” (Revelation 12:11) Pray that Iranian believers will not retreat in fear but shine as a resilient witness amid sorrow, fear, and chaos.

Rise of Justice

“He brings down rulers from their thrones but lifts up the humble.” (Luke 1:52) Ask God to raise up a just and righteous leadership that will serve the people with integrity, protect freedoms, and allow the Gospel to flourish.

Hope Through the Gospel

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:5) Pray that Iranians—especially youth—encounter Jesus as the only hope that never fails.

God is at work in Iran and across the region, drawing people to Himself even amid war and persecution. We pray that during this time of conflict; His presence will bring peace from the chaos.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” – Romans 8:28
