Ellie's Internship

We > I

Published On January 27, 2025

Ellie is a senior Marketing major at the University of Alabama and two-time summer intern for HP Pres. As an HP graduate, she shares, “I have always heard wonderful things about HP Pres and seen first-hand how involved the church is with our community. After my sophomore year of college, I realized I was interested in learning more about ministry and decided to be a summer intern for the Elementary students.”

Between personal growth, career expectations, and social obligations, young people experience an immense amount of pressure to succeed in all areas of life. Serving others reminds us to find value outside of our own ambition and experience. From Ellie’s perspective, “Navigating the busy season of college is hard and trying to discover the person God intended us to can be overwhelming. But serving at a church has been one of the most impactful ways for me to grow because it teaches us how to put others before ourselves and become better followers of Jesus.”

After interning for two consecutive summers, Ellie continues to step into volunteer roles at the church during her visits home from college. She shares, “Serving others has completely changed how I see the world. I learned to focus less on myself and more on the needs of people around me. It helped me see how God is moving in our community and in the lives of others.”
