Celebrating Our Family of Churches

Published On June 22, 2025

In 2016, the Session of HP Pres cast a bold vision: to plant 10 churches—five within our Family of Churches and five strategic partners across the country—by the time we reach our 100th anniversary in 2026. Today, we’re celebrating a major milestone on that journey. As of June 22, one of our first church plants, Grace Church Lake Highlands, has officially launched as an independent, chartered ECO church. To borrow language from our Family of Churches, it’s a bit like our oldest child heading off to college—grown, ready, and stepping boldly into the future God has for them.

Established in 2021, Grace Church Lake Highlands has been led by HP Pres’ former Teaching Pastor, Charlie Dunn. With about 50 people sent out from HP Pres to become the original nucleus of the church, they have grown to averaging 281 attendees on Sunday mornings.

In January of 2022, they moved to their current location at 10101 Walnut Hill Lane, the former home of a Lutheran church. Because of the kingdom mindset of the former congregation and the generosity of members and supportive friends, they were able to purchase the property, debt free and completed the necessary renovations in October of 2024.

Their independence is a long-anticipated moment for our family of churches and embodies the heart of our congregation to equip disciples with the resources they need to be confident followers of Christ and witnesses in their own back yards.

Join us in praying that God will continue to use Grace Church Lake Highlands not primarily as a place, but as a people called to share the hope of Jesus with their neighbors. We look forward to continued ministry partnership with them, as we seek together the flourishing of our city and beyond.
