Daniel and Ida

One Wholehearted “Yes”

Published On September 24, 2024

When Daniel and Ida came to HP Pres in 2016, they had no way of knowing what God had in store for them. They just chose to take one step at a time, trusting that God is at work even when we don’t see it.

After attending our church faithfully for a few years, they were invited to join a Sunday Class by one of their good friends. Ida grew up in the Catholic church and shares that “it was like starting at the base and working my way up. Sunday Classes are an excellent way to learn for people that didn’t grow up in the church. It’s a constant evolution of learning.” Their class studies one passage of the Bible at a time and encourages open and easy discussion. There is no rush, so everyone gets the chance to learn and contribute as a group.

Daniel started collecting the handouts each week to send to his mother in Virginia and sister in Cameroon on the coast of Western Africa. Eventually, people took notice and suggested they start recording their class so his family could study the Bible with them. Daniel and Ida agreed wholeheartedly and their “yes” has grown into 195 people learning about Jesus all the way on the other side of the world.

When we take steps in our faith and say “yes” to God, he works in mighty ways. Daniel shares that “what you do is important for not only you, but your neighbors, and all the world.”

You don’t have to wait until you have things all figured out to act out your faith. Go to hppres.org/classes to join a Sunday Class and dive deeper in your faith.
