See what God can do in & through you in just one summer!

Apply to be a Summer Intern

This is a 10-week internship that begins Monday, May 19, 2025, and ends Sunday, July 27, 2025.

The Summer Internship at HP Pres is an opportunity for college students to experience Jesus in a powerful way, apply new methods of deepening their faith, and lead others to become transformed disciples. This summer is all about discovering your purpose, making life-long memories, and taking part in God’s mission.

Whether you are a future pastor, business leader, engineer, or anything in between, this internship is for you! You’ll receive mentorship from church leadership, exposure to various ministries in the church, and hands-on training through our Kids & Students department.

What Past Interns Are Saying

“Working as a summer intern at HP Pres was life-changing for me. It was really meaningful to be a part of the organization that has done so much for me in my life growing up. It is a huge privilege to get to know these kids, watch them grow up, and help them grow closer to Christ. I have built lasting relationships through this internship with the staff at the church, my coworkers, and with the kids. HP Pres really cares about their interns, and it shows. I left this internship happier than ever and so close to God. – Courtenay Sands (Summer ’23 & ’24 Intern)

“The past two summers interning at HP Pres have been life changing. As an Elementary Intern, I had the amazing opportunity to witness kids coming to know Jesus and to help answer their questions. I was blessed by the support and guidance of the church staff, and it was a privilege to pass on that love and knowledge to the kids. For anyone considering this internship, I would say that you’ll make lifelong friends and gain the privilege of learning how to better share the gospel—both with the kids at HP Pres and with people around the world. It’s incredible to work in a place where the common goal is to glorify God and know Him more.” – Ellie Steindorf (Summer ’23 & ’24 Intern)

F.A.Q.

Q: Is the internship paid?

A: YES! We offer competitive hourly pay with the opportunity for overtime.

Q: Do I need prior ministry experience to apply?

A: No! While we will favor applicants who regularly attend church and serve in various ministries or organizations, there is no requirement to work in a church beforehand. This internship is a great opportunity to get your first ministry experience!

Q: What will my weekly schedule look like?

A: Our normal working schedule is 8am-12pm on Sunday and 9am-4pm on Monday-Thursday. Some weeks will be busier than others due to events, retreats and mission trips, but we always build in time for rest. Your time will be split between working in your specific ministry area, doing contact work with kids and students, networking with a wide array of church staff, and learning as an intern cohort.

Q: How will this internship prepare me for a job outside of full-time ministry?

A: Great question! We are not all called to be pastors, but we are all called to be ministers of the gospel. Every business, organization, and office in the world needs Christian leaders who step out in love to reach those around them. During your summer internship, you’ll learn key skills and gain experience in being a light to this world. We also have generous and successful church members who we hope to connect you with that may be able to provide guidance in various career paths.

Q: What if I have a vacation planned?

A: You are allowed to miss up to 1 week of the internship without pay, though we encourage you to participate in all 10 weeks! Note these particular dates as you plan your summer:

  • Intern Retreat: May 21-22
  • High School Mission Trip: June 21-27
  • Middle School Mission Trip: July 14-18
  • VBS (all age groups): June 9-12
  • 56 Mission Trip: June 24-26
  • Choir Mission Trip: June 14-18
  • Intern Celebration: July 27
