Feeding Families in Need

Published On January 9, 2023

Food insecurity has been an unfortunate reality for a long time in the United States, but the need grew immensely when families were affected by loss of income due to the pandemic. Our neighbors in East Dallas, South Dallas, and Richardson were not exempt, with nearly 600 families across ten zip codes struggling to afford groceries. In this time of desperation, God called HP Pres to join with Dallas Leadership Foundation, local churches, and other community organizations to help feed needy families.

Over this past year, 425 HP Pres volunteers have served 10,575 hours to help pack nearly 30,000 food boxes for families in these areas. This opportunity has allowed our congregation to act as the hands and feet of Jesus. The initiative will continue into 2023 and is an excellent opportunity to engage the whole family to serve.
