Confidence Through Christ
Elise and Elisa were worried about making friends at their new school, but they hung on to Philippians 4:13, which says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” This small act of faith put the sisters’ anxieties to rest, and they walked into the new school with hope for the future. By the end of her first week, they had already made several new friends because of the confidence they found through Christ.
Today is Third Grade Bible Sunday which recognizes the steps our kids make to take ownership of their faith just like Elise and Elisa did. The students have learned what it means to be a Christian and that “it is important to know what the Bible says because the Bible shows God’s plan for us. It is like a blueprint for everything that God wants us to do and how to do it” (Elisa, Highland Kids Student).
People can feel lost at any age, but the Bible gives us confidence that God has a plan for our lives. We can trust “what the Bible says because it is God’s word and God is our father in heaven” (Elise, Highland Kids Student).
