Service Opportunities
Our Initiatives
We work towards the transformation of our city through acts of mercy and justice, feeding the hungry, welcoming the stranger, and supporting and mentoring the
marginalized.
Body & Soul
Register to partner alongside Body and Soul, a local organization that has helped people experiencing homelessness.
Food Distribution
Working with our partner, Dallas Leadership Foundation, our food distribution program provides over 550 food boxes twice a month to families in need all over the city. This is a great opportunity to engage the whole family to serve.
Austin Street Center
Serve alongside our partner Austin Street Center to care for and empower people experiencing homelessness. Join us every 3rd Tuesday from 5–6:30 pm as we feed the homeless.
DLF Student Mentoring
Dallas Leadership Foundation seeks to equip the next generation of leaders through their Power Mentoring program. They connect high school students from Dallas and Richardson ISD with engaged volunteers for the academic school year.
For the Nations: Refugee Outreach – Co-op Classroom Aide
As a response to pandemic-induced learning gaps, K-6th grade classes have been established to address specific learning needs. Classrooms can use help each morning (8:45–10 am) and afternoon (12:15–2 pm).
For the Nations: Refugee Outreach – Preschool Aide
In preschool, 3 and 4-year-olds learn fine and gross motor skills, social skills, pre-reading and math skills, and of course, the gospel of Christ. Preschool classes are taught by a full-time teacher and need help from a teacher’s aide each morning (9:15–11:15 am) and afternoon (12:15–2:15 pm).
Mercy Street: Student Mentoring
The Mentoring Program matches Christian mentors with public school children in West & South Dallas or Vickery Meadow.
Mercy Street: Leadership Institute: Street Teams
The Leadership Institute at Mercy Street is a vehicle for teaching Christian leadership while preparing teenagers with marketable skills and an entrepreneurial mindset.
Mercy Street: Leadership Institute: Provide a Meal
Street Teams through the Leadership Institute meet weekly. Consider providing a meal for these students while they come together to study God’s word and develop as leaders.
Mercy Street: Sports Coaching
Mercy Street’s vision is to build Christian leaders in inner-city Dallas, and we believe team sports can play a huge role in this. Your role as a coach/mentor would be to teach the fundamentals of the sport while using it as a tool to share the Gospel.
