A Prayer for Charlie Kirk’s Family

Published On September 11, 2025

The assassination of Charlie Kirk is a tragedy that affects every American and especially every American evangelical in ways that may not be obvious but are deeply significant, as Jim Denison reminds us.

Charlie was known to many for his bold voice in the public square and for his passionate involvement on college campuses across the country, where he sought to engage the next generation in conversations about faith, freedom, and values.

While his work often stirred strong opinions, we recognize that Charlie was a man deeply committed to his calling and convictions. He was a brother in Christ. In this time of loss, we set aside differences and grieve together, lifting his family and all who knew him in prayer.

In times like these, it’s important not only to grieve the evil we see around us, but also to humbly examine our own hearts. The same root of sin that led to Charlie Kirk’s tragic death lives in every human soul, even in the most faithful believer.

This is why we need Jesus just as much today as the day we first called on Him.

As Jesus reminds us:
“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.”  John 11:25

May the peace of Christ comfort those who mourn, and may we continue to be a people marked by grace and compassion.

Prayer for Erika Kirk

Heavenly Father,

Today we lift up Erika Kirk and her precious children to You in their time of heartbreaking loss. Lord, You are close to the brokenhearted and near to those who are crushed in spirit, and so we ask You to draw near to this family in a way only You can.

Let her know, deep in her soul, that You are present, You are faithful, and You are not letting go.

We pray for her children, so young, so tender, now walking through something no child should have to face. Be their protector and their guide. Guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Lord, we trust in Your promise that You will never leave or forsake us. We ask for Your mercy, Your peace, and Your healing hand upon Erika and her children.

In the name of Jesus, our Savior.

Amen.
