“In His Steps” Tour of Israel

The Holy Land is a place like nowhere else on earth. You will be powerfully shaped by this experience. Your faith will deepen and come alive in new ways, as it has for centuries of Christian pilgrims who’ve made similar journeys. To follow in Jesus’ footsteps through the landscapes, towns, and places where he led and lived with his first disciples as he changed the world, isn’t just to relive the events of scripture; it is to join with him in a deeper and more personal relationship as you find your soul fed in new and wonderful ways.

When we traveled to Israel with Jim Denison and Mike Fanning—who co-leads trips for Jim and many other pastors—it was such an awesome experience that we knew we had to help make this opportunity possible for more in our church family. We’re thrilled to incorporate this trip into our congregation’s Spiritual Formation offerings for 2024 and hope that you and your family will join us “in his steps.” Ginny & Josh, Emily Scates, and our HP Pres pastor team will focus on the biblical narrative of our pilgrimage each day and explain the spiritual significance of the both Old and New Testaments sites that we visit.

Mike, also a pastor, first visited Israel on a trip with his parents when he was a kid and fell in love with the country and its people. Mike lived in Israel for several years while studying biblical archaeology, then earned a Ph.D. in Old Testament from Baylor University. He has led over 150 tours to Israel and takes numerous groups to the Holy Land every year. Mike knows the culture and the sites, and will take us to the most significant and memorable places in Israel.

It’s an honor to lead this trip as a spiritual pilgrimage. We pray the Holy Spirit will draw us closer to God as he encourages and equips us for his mission and ministry.
