Confirmation Class 2023
The Confirmation class provides 7th graders with the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the Christian faith, to reflect on what they personally believe about God, and to discover more of what it means to participate in this church family.
Although they are young, 7th grade students are at a point in their life where they are ready to ask hard questions about God’s love. “Just knowing that I will not be judged while I am asking these challenging questions really makes me feel like I have a place of comfort” (Saylor, 7th grader). Our children need these opportunities to take hold of their faith as they personally find and follow Jesus.
After participating in the ten classes that included a weekend retreat, Kinleigh reflected that the class “helped me better understand that I need to trust in God and that He has a purpose for me and a planned future that is better than anything I could imagine or try to create on my own.”
The Confirmation class surrounds students with people prepared to share God’s love with them from a new perspective and to answer all their questions about faith. This is just the beginning for many of these students in their faith journey and this class equips them with the foundation they need to continue to grow in their faith for all their lives. Just like 7th grade student, Ranger, says, “being a Christian is not just a title, but it is a process and God is always there to help me on that process.”
